Initial Jobless Claims in the United States increased by 227,000 for the week ending August 31, the Department of Labor (DoL) reported on Thursday. This figure was below the expected 231,000 and marked a slight drop from the previous week's revised figure of 232,000.

Continuing Claims, which track those remaining on unemployment benefits after their initial claim, fell by 22,000 to 1.838 million in the week ending August 24.
Market Reaction The US Dollar Index (DXY) remains under pressure, hovering near the 101.00 level as traders assess the implications of these labor market conditions on the broader economy.
