Editorial policy

Last updated 2026-10-06

MarketAlleys exists to help readers understand markets quickly and accurately. These standards apply to everything we publish.

Accuracy first

We prefer being right to being first. Facts — especially numbers — must come from a source we can name: official releases, company filings, exchange or market-data providers, or reputable news organisations. When a fact cannot be verified we leave it out or say clearly that it is unconfirmed.

Sourcing

  • Primary sources come first: central-bank and government statistical releases, SEC EDGAR filings and company investor-relations announcements, exchange and official project sources.
  • Secondary sources are used for context and discovery and are linked and credited.
  • We link to our sources wherever possible and list them at the end of data-driven reports.
  • We do not copy or lightly rewrite other publishers’ articles.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors and commercial partners. Advertisers cannot review, approve or alter editorial content. Sponsored content and press releases are labelled and governed by our sponsored content policy.

Automated reports

Some recurring reports are produced by the MarketAlleys Research Desk using automated data processing and language tools. They are built only from structured facts and cited sources, and pass deterministic and model-based checks before publication — every hard number must trace to source data, no events may be invented or described as having happened before they did, and no quotes, analysts or price targets may be fabricated. Reports that fail these checks are held for human review rather than published. The full process is described in our methodology.

Language and advice

We describe markets; we do not tell readers what to buy or sell. We avoid sensational language, unsupported causal claims and directives such as “you should buy now”. Analysis presents evidence and scenarios, not recommendations.

Dates and updates

Every article shows when it was published and, if materially changed, when it was updated. We never refresh dates on old articles to make them appear new. Archive articles migrated from our previous website keep their original publication dates.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we fix it and say so. See our corrections policy.

Conflicts of interest

Contributors must disclose any position in, or relationship with, an asset or company they write about. Where a material conflict exists, it is disclosed in the article or the contributor does not cover that subject.
